GGG-1006RA: GG&G MAD (Multi Aperture Device) BUIS Rear Sight - AR15 Rear BUIS Sight
Originally developed to fulfill a request from the Naval Surface Warfare Dept.  A low profile Back Up Iron Sight that provides both a large and small aperture on the same plane and provide co-witness capability with the majority of Red Dot Optics such as the EOTech HWS.T he MAD BUIS With Ranging Aperture was originally manufactured by GG&G under a contract with Picatinny Arsenal, and although it is ammunition and weapon specific, we decided that it was time to offer it to a broader market. The MAD BUIS with Ranging Aperture has all of the same great features as the standard MAD BUIS such as its low profile, solid 4140 steel and 6061-T6 aluminum construction, solid locking detent with button release, and mil-spec finish. It has one important exception. The unique rotating multiple aperture disc has 5 apertures preset to specified distances. In particular, 0=25 and 200yds 3=300yds 4=400yds 5=500yds 6=600yds. A small window facing the shooter, as can be seen in the above photograph, provides a numerical cue as to the range. All apertures are the same diameter—-.070” diameter. The apertures have been preset using the ballistic calculations for 55 grain through 62 grain ammunition used in the AR15/M16 16" carbine length weapon.

• The GG&G Products MAD BUIS Sight is CNC manufactured from Billet 6061 T6 Aluminum Alloy, Type III hard coat anodized in a non-reflective black Mil-Spec finish to provide combat durability. The GG&G MAD sight stem and aperture disc are made from Solid Billet 4140 Steel and have hardened wear points for long service life. All steel components are black manganese phosphated per Mil-Spec Standard. The MAD sight overhangs the rear of the receiver by 0.200-inch providing a lip so that the sight can be easily deployed even with a gloved hand. The sight locks in the up position with a positive mechanical detent system. Once placed in the up position, the MAD sight cannot be folded down without depressing the spring assisted detent release button located on the left side of the sight base, totally eliminating the possibility of accidentally lowering the sight.
